Read the reviews, made a point of walking from our hotel to Esmeraldaās for breakfast. Was not disappointed. Very warm and welcoming staff, enjoyed the complimentary biscuits while waiting for our Chorizo con papas con huevos. Split the plate, (which made three tacos) and then had the rest the next morning at home. We also purchased sweet bread:pan dulce from the bakery section to take home. The different flavors of emapanadas, especially the pineapple were excellent! Very happy with our experience.
Esperanzas, a FW cult classic. Either love it or hate it. Personally, the pan dulce is delicious and quite large. The regular food is very average. Came here for a graduation party where we were served nachos, carnita tacos, rice and beans, and chicken flautas. The flour tortillas were pretty good and fluffy. 8/10. The rice and beans were average. 5/10. The flautas were also average, not much flavor, but a good texture and size. 5/10. The atmosphere is very authentic and homey. I do love that. Its a safe restaurant for consistently average food, but really really good mexican breakfast pastries. I love their conchas. I also remember loving their chicarrones when I was a child and used to eat pork. (I no longer eat pork).
Great variety in the menu. Breakfast all day. Huge portions. Couldn't finish. House made tortillas. Bakery on site. Nicely decorated. Landscaped patio.
Came in on a Wednesday early evening, very quiet in the restaurantā¦ Server was very kind and attentiveā¦ I ordered the enchiladas one chicken and one cheese, rice, and beansā¦ Very authentic flavor! Chips and salsa were free and weāre quite delicious. not too spicy!great place to stop for an authentic Mexican meal thatās not overpriced!
I went to eat at this restaurant on august 28th about 1:30pm in the evening right when i walked in the place seemed hotter than usual. It was not busy at all. I ordered some enchiladas and as im almost finished with my plate i see there is a baby cockroach in my food. I was in disgust. I called the waiter to see if there was a manager on shift and they told me none of the two managers were there so he told me to write down my name and phone number. It is now Friday August 30th and no one has reached out to me. I will be calling code compliance as i am now sick.
