I love Evo. My husband and I go to the movies here all the time. But last night, I decided to have a family bowling night for my birthday. Letās just say the night started off just a tad bit rocky, but our host Peyton and The Hospitality Manager Kristy made our night amazing!!! The customer service here is top tier!!! Not to mention theyāre very affordable!!!! Lots of entertainment for the entire family! The food and drinks were so good!!!! If youāre looking for a great spot to hang out or just chill with the family this is your place!!!!!
First off I would like to name the team members who did an excellent job at this theater and made up for the rest of my experience, Danny, Jessica, and Valerie were all very kind and helpful. However, I would give this theater negative stars if I could. I work at a movie theater that is both bigger and busier than this one, with a similar amount of employees, and I have a literal list of problems that I experienced at this poor excuse for entertainment. I wanted to see a showing at 10:30, I get to the theater at 10:00, buy my ticket, and realize that the showing is actually at 11:35. I asked an employee and he told me that yes, originally the showing for this night was at 10:30, but had since been changed to the later time. I understand this, my theater does it too on occasion, so I decide to get a drink at the bar and order some food. There was one bartender on duty, I did ask an employee how many they usually have and they said two or three so obviously she was a little overwhelmed by herself because I sat at the bar for ten minutes before I was even acknowledged. In fact another customer got her attention for me and I still waited another 5 minutes and then ordered a simple whiskey and coke, She took my order, then took someone elseās order, then got their drinks before I even got mine and I had to wait even LONGER for my order. She also didnāt check my ID which is extremely concerning considering the fact I am barely legal and look about 14, I also didnāt get carded for the movie I saw which was rated R but thatās at least not illegal. I am a bartender myself at my location and I am convinced I could have done a much better job than she did tonight. Itās around 11:00 at this point and I ask the employee at the podium if my auditorium is good to go in, she says yes, and she was wrong, because the previous movie is still playing! Not to mention the fact that you canāt even see your auditorium number until you actually walk up and face the freaking door. I understand my location is a bit newer than this theater is so thatās not the managements fault but the layout of the theater is not efficient or easy to navigate at all. I go to the cafe area and order the French fries from the only manager I witnessed the entire night, and decided to ask her some questions. She has worked at this theater for around a year and got promoted to manager position in a single months time from team member. No freaking wonder this place is managing so poorly, their managers are inexperienced! She also decided to brag to me about the ceo of her theater being the grandfather of the ceo of my theater. How charming to brag when my theater would be shut down after a week running the way this theater is being run. Thereās a reason obviously as to why our ceo decided to do his own thing because this theater chain is horrendous. The only positives I can say about this place is that their fries are really good! Their standard theaters are clean and have nice picture and sound quality, their seats recline waaayyyy back, and their water cups are a reasonable size. Unfortunately I didnāt get popcorn because a small size was terribly overpriced at $8.00 and the popcorn itself looked staler and more flavorless than a microwave bag youād pop at home. Just awful. Again I would like to shout out the team members who were doing their best, especially Jessica the usher, because she was all alone and made great conversation while I waited for her to clean the auditorium my movie was in. She was fast and proficient at her job and had wonderful customer service.
We waited for over an hour for our movie to begin. The staff only came in once to notify us that there was a problem. We were told weād be given updates. That was the only time someone acknowledged the problem. They never apologized or offered us anything to compensate us for our time and trouble. While we waited on our movie to begin, a staff member asked me to stand up so he could get behind my chair to look at something. At the time, I had no idea what he was doing. When I sat back down my chair would not recline. When I found him to let him know about the problem he followed me back to my seat, and the people at the end of my row explained that when he was here earlier he was fixing their seat that wouldnāt recline. I told him not to worry about it because I didnāt want the other peopleās seat to not work if he fixed mine. He said ā okā and walked off. Mercy, what has happened to good customer service?
This place is still soooo much better than the new theatre in Red Oak. The ticket prices are better, the concession is better, the staff is friendlier. We go here every few months to catch a movie, probably more often lately as there have been better movies out there lately. They have $1 hot dogs which while probably not healthy is worth it for watching a movie.
Wouldnāt be writing a review but this place honestly unprofessional idk if itās like this all the time but me and my friend went and got charged $37 for two drinks. The bar tender was DRUNK like extremely drunk at 4pm. She charged us for a double shot but that drink was so strong we couldnāt even drink it at all. Waist of money. Just donāt know how that lady was working there under the influence like that!
